Congratulations! Now that you have exchanged vows and gold wedding rings, you are off
to your reception to celebrate the biggest night of your life with
family and friends. Choosing the entertainment for your reception
is most likely the most important choice you will make out of all your wedding
plans. I‘ve been in the business for 40 years and not once have
I heard any one say, “Oh honey, look at that cake let‘s go out on the dance floor and
dance.” Or, “Taste this chicken, isn’t it great. Let’s stay and party all night.” The flowers
and decorations will also look great, but again, no one will decide to stay because of the
flowers or decorations. Your guests will stay all night only if they are having the time of
their lives. The DJ can make or break your reception. How will he make sure to keep the
“party” atmosphere going? Will he only stand in the corner and play music? What separates a
good DJ from a “Great Entertainer”? Entertaining ! If all the DJ does is stand in the corner
and play music, it isn’t a party, it’s a dance. It takes seeing something different and

It is so hard for me to explain the difference between DJ TOMMY RAY and every one else
in town. How about if I just inform you of some facts?
There are only three or four DJ services in this area that are full time. All the rest
are part timers. I’m not saying that they are bad because they are part time, but you will get
a lot of answering machines. The part timers are working in a factory or some place else and
not able to answer your phone call. Their DJ obligations are only second place to their full
time job. I answer the phone all day long. It isn’t often that I miss a call.
All the other multi-system DJ services in this area “sub out” to other DJ’s. With
any other DJ service you will not know who will be your DJ. Most of the “sub
contractor DJ’s” are beginners. You have no way of knowing how long they have
been DJing weddings or what kind of equipment or library of music they have.

You may ask what music will we play? We will meet with you personally to discuss the
music. We will go over your first dance, the father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and your
dancing favorites. We walk in the door with over 3,000 of the all time best of the best, no
“filler” songs here. They are all top 5 hits from the 1940’s through tomorrow’s Top 40’s. We
subscribe to the same service that radio stations get their music from. We have the
future top hits before you hear them on the radio. Each week we print
out the Top 40 countdown off the internet and each week we have every Top 40
song, pop and country. When you play “by request” you have to be able to
fill requests.
